At the heart and soul of Thrive Movement Arts is Bellydance/Arabic Dance/Raqs Sharqi. Thrive has two spaces right next door to each other; head to Suite 6 to dance! Thrive offers ongoing Bellydance classes as well as two Performance Groups: The Crown Jewels Professional Bellydance Company and Kanz Altaaj Student Group!
Multi-award winning artist Mychelle Crown, Owner, and Iselda Dance Design, Studio Manager, work with many accomplished, award winning belly dance artists to create a thriving dance community. We are an inclusive dance studio dedicated to honoring the beautiful cultures who created and uphold this art. Thrive Movement Arts is home for Bellydance in Sacramento, CA!
Working with a talented network of professional dancers, Thrive Movement Arts produces regular Workshops and Events, including quarterly dance showcases, regular workshops with Master Instructors, student night showcases, and so much more. Iraqi Dance Series with Anita
New Mixed Level Bellydance Class
New Mixed Level Bellydance Class
Powerhouse guest-instructor Anita will teach us an Iraqi dance choreography, with the opportunity to perform at Hunted Oasis on October 18, 2025! Learn Iraqi dance from the ground up in this 5-week series, from the basics to a full group choreography. Modifications offered for those who don't feel comfortable with hair work. Space is limited!

Glamour Shots Photo Day!
Glamour Shots is back! Be photographed in new costumes styles from Turquoise International, with professional photography and artistic direction by power couple Carl Sermon and Ma'Shuqa! This is a great opportunity for dancers to build a photo library in a variety of costumes. Only $75 for photos, and that fee is applicable to a costume purchase. What a deal! Pre-registration is required, and costume purchase is not required.

The Crown Jewels
With Mychelle Crown as Director and Iselda Amar as Troupe Manager, The Crown Jewels Dance Company comprises many styles and levels. The Crown Jewels Student Troupe performs at our quarterly events. The Crown Jewels Circuit Troupe performs and competes at festivals throughout California and beyond. The Crown Jewels Professional Dance Troupe performs professionally at private and public events throughout the region. Circuit and Professional group participation by audition only. Kanz Altaaj Student Dance Troupe
Kanz Altaaj - Treasure of the Crown
Kanz Altaaj is Arabic for Treasure of the Crown, and this group is definitely Mychelle Crown's treasure! Our student troupe is a welcoming atmosphere for anyone who wants to learn choreography and take their dance to the next level. Performance opportunities available but are not required. 6:30pm Mixed Level Bellydance Class attendance required for dancers who wish to perform at events. Purchase of a mid-priced costume and prop necessary for performers. In Kanz Altaaj we learn a variety of dances, from Cairo bellydance to folk and more.
